How to Book Talent

Taking a moment to read the tips below will speed up the booking process for you and for us.  There are basically 3 ways to book talent for your project:

  • Option A - Just call us at 323-766-1733
  • Option B - Do a model search then call us and ask!
  • Option C - Use the booking form. Tips / instructions below:
  1. Search & select the talent you think may be right for your job.
  2. If you use the TalentSleuth Search Engine, you can use our handy "Clipboard" feature to collect the names & info on the models who come up in your search. The Clipboard feature, which acts like a shopping cart, is accessed from the results page after you do a model search.
  3. Once you've chosen a model or group of models, fill out the booking form with the models name(s) (cut 'n paste) and with information about you, the modeling job, and your dollar offer.

Pricing and Making Offers

  • Stock Models is neither the manager nor agent of any of our listed talent, & therefore we do not set prices for them.
  • Stock Models is a referral service. Our listed talent set their own prices & are paid directly by the hiring client, not through Stock Models or Stock Production, LLC.
    • Some of our talent have given us set prices, but most have not.
    • Some of our talent will require more compensation than others based on their own personal requirements, experience level, and the nature of the job offered to them.
  • All you need to do is select the people you'd like to work with, and we'll present your offer to them.
  • The talent will decide based on the information they are given whether to accept, decline, or counter your offer.
  • Jobs that don't require a full release can be somewhat less expensive, and while all of our talent are open to signing a full release, you should not expect them to do so in every situation.
  • Our talent will always be the only ones to approve or disapprove of any contract or release, job offer, or rate for their time.

Additional Fees

Usage Fees for Assignment Photography

Unlike stock photography (speculative) assignments, some projects with a known advertising objective and usage may incur an additional fee for the model (negotiated solely by the model, not Stock Models).

Hourly rates negotiated between clients and models are for the models time and often are separate from the fee required by the model to release their rights to the images.

The model may wish to negotiate an additional rate for any use of the photographs, or reproductions or adaptations thereof, or drawings therefrom, either complete or in part, alone or in conjunction with any workings or drawings, other than the permitted use.

Unless otherwise agreed to via a limited release (as opposed to a full release for stock photography), the 'permitted use' is for the photographer's personal use only and EXCLUDES uses such as the following:

  • Annual report

  • Billboard

  • Book cover

  • Broadcast

  • Brochure

  • Catalog

  • Consumer magazine

  • Consumer news

  • Counter card

  • Editorial

  • Model/talent endorsement

  • Package

  • Point-of-purchase

  • Poster

  • Out-of-home

  • Album cover

  • Trade

  • Web/internet

It is not permitted to use photographs for any purpose whatsoever until all fees have been paid.

Rates for all foreign material are to be separately negotiated.

For more information on usage fees, please view our memo entitled "Usage fees vs. Full Releases".

Exclusion Fees

A special fee may be negotiated when the work is in conjunction with a product which precludes work for competing products.  It is the CLIENT'S responsibility to check with the model to determine whether conflicting work has been done.  If a model advertises a product he/she is able to work for any competitor unless an exclusion fee has been negotiated.

Aside from the 20% finder's fee, additional fee requirements are up to the individual talent's discretion and are negotiable.
